Rearing modern chickens can be a bit of a hustle when it comes to hens sitting on, caring for, and hatching their own eggs. Simply put, many of them just will not do it properly anymore. And even when they try, it can be inconsistent. Some hens abandon the eggs halfway, others break them, and sometimes other chickens turn into egg predators if they share nesting space.
So instead of depending on moods and luck, it’s often better to incubate the eggs yourself.
The problem? Incubation chambers are expensive. I mean, EXPENSIVE. So why not build a simple one yourself?
