  • Preparation Comes First

  • Color Planning and Mixing

    • Next, we deal with colors.
If mixing is needed, this is where it happens. A base coat is usually applied first. White is commonly used when going for bright colors, because it helps the color pop. Black can also be used if you want to experiment or achieve darker, deeper tones.

Most likey the video didn't give you enough information. Continue to read the procedure to fully grasp the concept. Plus there is a long form video at the end, it just tackles the concept of priming.

      Materials Needed:

      • Spray paint cans or paint for spraying

      • Base coat paint, white or black depending on the desired finish

      • Clear or protective coat

      • Mixing container if using liquid paint

      • Stirring stick

      • Test surface or scrap material

      • Gloves

      Recommended Steps:

      • Decide on the final color and finish before mixing anything

      • Choose the appropriate base coat, white for brighter colors, black for darker tones

      • If mixing paint, start with small amounts to control the shade

      • Stir the paint thoroughly until the color is even

      • Test the color on a scrap surface and allow it to dry

      • Adjust the mix if needed before moving to the actual project

    • Now we spray.
We start with the base coat and allow it to dry properly. After that comes the main color, applied in light, even layers to avoid runs and uneven patches. Finally, we apply a protective clear coat. This last layer protects the paint and gives it that clean, shiny finish.

      Materials Needed:

      • Spray paint or spray gun with mixed paint

      • Base coat paint

      • Main color paint

      • Clear or protective coat

      • Protective gloves and mask

      • Drop cloth or protective covering

      Recommended Steps:

      • Shake the spray can or mix the paint thoroughly before use

      • Hold the spray nozzle at a consistent distance from the surface

      • Apply the base coat using light, even passes

      • Allow the base coat to dry fully before continuing

      • Apply the main color in thin layers, letting each layer dry slightly

      • Avoid spraying too close to prevent drips and runs

      • Finish with a clear protective coat for durability and shine

      • Allow the final coat to cure properly before handling
